Brooklyn Public Library. Ready, Set, Kindergarten! Program Intern. Stipend.

The Brooklyn Public Library serves Brooklyn’s 2.5 million residents and is the fifth-largest library system in the nation. They are seeking interns for their storytime program to provide a six-session series of preschool programs in designated BPL branches on specific dates starting in March 2015. Interns must use the RSK curriculum to plan and conduct storytime programs, share picture books, songs, rhymes, fingerplays, and developmentally appropriate arts and craft activities, share tips and information with parents and caregivers, and other duties. Ideal applicants must have their bachelor’s degree, experience leading programs with 3-5 year olds, knowledge of early childhood development and children’s literature, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and the flexibility and willingness to travel. Fluency in Spanish, Haitian Creole, Cantonese, Mandarin, Bengali, Urdu, Polish, or Russian is a plus.
