Creativity, Passion, and Saying Thank You — Photos and Presentations from Our One Year Party

Last night we celebrated a year of empowering students and recent grads to be creative and follow their dreams in New York City with over 150 people from our community.

We enjoyed hearing insights from three inspirational creatives:

Jacob Krupnick, Director of Girl Walk // All Day  shared tips on staying creative learned from the last year of shooting his film.
Tips included: always have a way to write down your ideas and revisit them often and take breaks from technology to be alone with your ideas.

Jenny Blake, author of Life After College shared life lessons she learned from going through the publishing process.
Tips included: don’t get discouraged in the “how’s” (how will you make money, how will people find your project, etc) and how to find and accept support from unexpected places.

Co-Founder Emily Miethner shared thoughts on three very important things that we’ve learned in the last year: never underestimate the power of reaching out and hard work, the value of helping others, and that saying thank you should be automatic, yet personal and heartfelt.

Below are a set of teaser photos (full set to be released on Monday on The Wix Lounge Facebook page) and the presentations for your viewing pleasure. Thank you again for all who celebrated with us. If you were unable to make it, we hope to see you in 2012!
