Why Attend?

Money is confusing. It can be awkward to talk about, and they don’t exactly offer a class in college called “Intro to Not Going Broke.” Think of this as your quick makeup course to help you transition to adulthood and take responsibility for your money.

It’s the new year, and it’s time to stop avoiding your finances and cringing at the number in your savings account, and check your credit. We’re thrilled to partner with Credit Karma, experts on all things credit, who will help you finally understand how your credit score affects you, how you can change it, and what it all means.

What if instead of focusing on cutting your precious $3 winter iced coffees to save $60 a month, you figure out how to make an extra $2,000 a year through a freelance gig or getting a new credit card with a lower interest rate after discovering yours is high when you checked your credit with the Credit Karma mobile app.

We’ll focus on how to make more money, through methods like side hustling and negotiation, instead of what most people like to focus on…penny pinching!

Topics covered include:

  • Your credit score (what even is that, anyway?)
  • Student loans
  • How to make more money through side hustles
  • Salary negotiation
  • + more

The presentation will last about 45 minutes, followed by a 15 minute Q&A.
