“Our community is excited about this launch because we offer them career optimism in a time when everyone else is telling them to settle,” says Founder and President, Emily Miethner. “Building this site feature was an obvious next step to giving our community even more tools and opportunities to find jobs they love and follow their passion.”

The site complements the organization’s events, which give aspiring creatives the chance to meet accomplished professionals from companies like Google, Tribeca Film Festival, Condé Nast, and Razorfish. In April of 2012, NY Creative Interns hosted their largest event yet,
Find and Follow Your Passion, a conference attended by over 250 guests featuring over 40 creative professionals, including keynote speaker Josh Siegal, Writer and Producer of the popular television show,
30 Rock (see the recap video
here).

Emily Miethner and
Reb Carlson, both Hofstra University alumni and recent graduates themselves, formed NY Creative Interns in the Fall of 2010 in an effort to promote the importance of mentorship and networking to young creatives. The group is now run by Miethner,
Marny Smith, Vice President and Community Director, and a team of more than a dozen passionate volunteers.

NY Creative Interns has hosted over 40 events for more than 2,000 attendees in the last year.
