Living on An Intern’s Budget: First Weekend of March

It’s the first weekend of March.  We’re in the home stretch guys – only a few more weeks until spring! We have you checking out the Brooklyn Brewery, looking at art, watching a film classic in a grand location, and eating free PB&J!
Friday 3/4
  • Brooklyn Brewery Happy Hour –  6 pm – 11 pm
In case you haven’t heard, the infamous Brooklyn Brewery now has a Friday Happy Hour!  They have 8 different beers to choose from and The Tasting Room is cleared of equipment and picnic tables are brought in where you’re free to bring well behaved pets, a deck of cards, order pizza, but you can’t bring your 18 year old sister (21+ only). Beers are $4 each or 6 for $20 (I suggest splitting with a friend).  It tends to get crowded, so plan to stay a while here.

Saturday 3/5

  • First Saturday at The Brooklyn Museum – 5 pm – 11 pm
If there is one thing you should do, it’s taking advantage of all the free admission days at NYC museums.  At the Brooklyn Museum’s Target First Saturdays, thousands of visitors enjoy free programs of art and entertainment.  This week enjoy a spectacular performance from American Indian Dancers, the movie “Edge of America” and your option to design a beautiful bag which you can take home with you!

Sunday 3/6

  • Free Movie Sunday at Tribeca Grand Hotel – 8:30 pm – 10:30 pm
Check out the gorgeous  Tribeca Grand Hotel every Sunday in their awesome theatre for a free movie & free popcorn as they screen some of the best movies. This week, come watch the classic Casablanca with Humphrey Bogart & Ingrid Bergman.  I hope this isn’t the first time you’ve seen this film, but whether it is or isn’t, the Tribeca Grand is the best place to see it.

All weekend

  • The World’s First PB&J Art Exhibit in SoHo! – Friday 10 am – Sunday 4 pm
Need we say more? A Peanut Butter & Jelly Art Exhibit! Free food and free goodie bags! RSVP and details here.
