On Saturday, November 9th, more than 35 top creative professionals will be sharing their insight with our community at the fourth installment of Find & Follow Your Passion, our full-day career conference in partnership with Eugene Lang College The New School for Liberal Arts.
We’re thrilled to introduce you to one of our speakers, Maria Spano.
Maria began her career in publishing working at Scholastic. Being a very visual person, children’s literature and picture books had been a natural fit. Maria then moved on to work at Barnes & Noble as an associate managing editor, where she worked on proprietary product and exclusively worked on the B&N leather bound classic series. In 2009, she joined Sterling Publishing and was later promoted to managing editor. Now, Maria is managing editor for Penguin Random House’s Crown Publishing Group, where she has been working since 2012.
At Crown Publishing focuses on titles covering a range of topics and categories, spanning from entertainment, pop-culture and sports, to leadership, health and self-improvement. Some of their featured authors include Suzanne Somers, Jim Gaffigan, Mindy Kaling, and Deepak Chopra.
