Meet Artist Gina Fuentes Walker at Find & Follow Your Passion on April 6

More than 35 top creative professionals will be sharing their insight with us for Find & Follow Your Passion, our full-day conference taking place on April 6th at The New School. We’re thrilled to introduce you to one of our speakers, Gina Fuentes Walker.

Walker

Gina Fuentes Walker creates photo based installations in her studio, using available light and translucent materials such as glass, Plexiglas, and color transparencies. Images of trees and landscapes are printed on acetate, layered or cut-out as silhouettes to produce both large and small scale works that are mounted along walls and surfaces. Light filters through these translucent materials to create another layer or image that resembles abstract patterns and silhouettes of the natural world. Her work includes site-specific photo based and video installations in the U.S. and Germany.

Group and solo exhibitions of her studio work include gallery and site-specific installations in New York, Massachusetts, Virginia, North Carolina, Texas, Italy and Germany. She has been awarded fellowships and residencies from the Smithsonian Institution, Chashama and The Bronx Museum of the Arts. She is currently a resident artist at Chashama Studios in New York.

In her commercial work, she photographs museum and gallery exhibition designs, architectural interiors, museum and private collections. Her client list includes the Smithsonian Institution, The New-York Historical Society, The American Bible Society, The Museum of Biblical Art, the Mount Vernon Hotel Museum, and the Asia Society.
