Meet Our Summer Marketing & Events Intern: Veronica Shi

The NY Creative Interns staff is very pleased to introduce one of our first-ever summer interns, Veronica Shi.

Veronica is a rising senior at the Macaulay Honors College of the College of Staten Island. She’s studying Graphic Design and Corporate Communications with a concentration in Marketing.

Veronica really stood out during the application process. One of our sample assignments was to create a mock event (come up with the title, speakers, etc). Veronica, who has been teaching herself how to code, created an actual mock event web page based on our other event pages, and published a screen shot to her personal website. She has an obvious love of learning and we’re thrilled she’ll be joining our team.

Find out more about Veronica in the post below.

What part of your summer internship with NY Creative Interns are you looking forward to most?
I’m looking forward to a lot of things this summer at NY Creative Interns, such as learning how to market a start-up company through a re-branding process and how to plan professional events. However, I’m also looking forward to networking with professionals from various different industries.

If you could hear anyone speak at a future NY Creative Interns event, who would it be?
If I could hear anyone speak at a future NY Creative Interns event, it would be Mark Zuckerberg, co-founder and CEO of Facebook. He launched a social media site from his dorm before he was 21 and was able to market it successfully (plus, he had a movie made about him, staring Jesse Eisenberg and Andrew Garfield, depicting the Facebook development process, which is just so cool.) I’d love to hear if he has any advice for aspiring entrepreneurs.

Favorite Social Network?
I love using LinkedIn because I feel like it integrates the best of other social media platforms. You can connect with people (like Facebook), update statuses “follow” companies (like Twitter), and even catch up on news.

Give us a fun fact about yourself.
I’m an avid reader of fashion magazines and blogs, so you can always find me wearing the latest trends and posting my #ootd pictures on Instagram.

Welcome to the team, Veronica.
