We are very excited to share our first panelist profile with you all for next week’s event: How to Survive Internet Week: Using Social Media to Make Offline Connections. Monday June 6, 4pm. More information here.
Charlie is a Principal at First Round Capital, working on very early stage investments in the New York City area. He founded New York’s largest independent innovation community group, nextNY, and was voted one of the 100 Most Influential People in New York Technology the last three consecutive years by Alley Insider. Impressive right? Yup, we’re pumped to have him!
What Internet Week NY panel are you looking forward to the most?
Social Shopping… because Chantel has been an amazing entrepreneur to work with, Ashley is fantastic and Rachel is super smart and knows the space really well. Ben and Joel are no slouches either–changing the ratio in the shopping startup space. :) (read more here
What is the most memorable conference you’ve been to?
SXSW 2007 — The twitter explosion conference…. also where I first met Rob May in person, who I backed 3 years later to do Backupify.
Number #1 networking tip?
Form a smaller number of really genuine, deep connections. 100 business cards is less effective than a single shared moment of sincerity.
Hear more at our awesome panel on Monday! Space is very limited so arrive early. There’s no guest list, it’s first come first served. RSVP on Meetup
for the reminder.
Have any questions for Charlie? Write them below in the comments and we’ll ask him during the panel!
