We are thrilled to announce that the panel for our Interview Workshop, is made up of four amazingly intelligent creative professionals.
In the days leading up to the event we will be profiling the panelists here. We hope that reading just a bit about their backgrounds will get you nice and fired up to see them in person on January 11th. RSVP here.
This week we’d like to introduce you to NICK ROVISA.
What is your current position?
Digital Account Executive at Finn Partners.
What is the best part of your job?
The best part of my job is brainstorming new and creative ways for our clients/prospective clients to use social/digital media in order to achieve their business objectives.
Can you tell us a funny interview story about yourself or someone you interviewed?
Upon graduating from college in 2008, I interviewed with a company called Platform A (previously called Advertising.com but I digress) in Baltimore. I had purchased a suit specifically for the interview and I was feeling great in it. I went through a grueling interview process which consisted of a grammar test and four interviews in a row. After all was said and done, I was extremely relieved and proud of myself until I realized that my fly had been down the entire time. Needless to say I was really embarrassed and thought for sure that I would not get the job because of it. As it turns out, I was offered a position but I had already taken on another one so I declined. Funny experience to reflect on looking back.
What are you looking forward to most at the Interview Workshop?
I am looking forward to passing along all the insight I can to these young job seekers. This life doesn’t come with instructions and it can be difficult to figure out how to go about landing a gig. I want to be a resource for the attendees and give them real world tips they can use, not just buzzy crap that sounds good.
