Only a few days away from our next meetup on Tuesday, April 26th at Etsy HQ!
Sell Yourself without Selling Out: Making It as an Artist in the Digital Age
We are very excited to introduce our panelists to you all! Today, Ruben Quinones of Path Interactive!
What is your current position? Director of New Media at Path Interactive, Adjunct at NYU, and speaker
What are the last three companies you’ve worked for/projects you’ve worked on? I recently came back from speaking at web 2.0 in SF and a Cisco event in Oslo. Just finished up teaching spring social media course at NYU, and am in the middle of a number of client projects due to launch soon, will share more at the panel.
How has the rise of digital media helped you advance in your profession?
Wow, its amazing how I leveraged digital to create my personal brand. You think it would be tough to do with everyone being an “expert” on the subject, but I knew that if I were to leverage my offline activities with my online efforts, that it would eventually pay off. Although I will never feel like “Ive made it”, I have certainly come a long way in the last few years.
What are your favorite websites/blogs to read?
Brian Solis, Mashable, Life Hacker, inside facebook, Techpedia, and although its offline, Fortune magazine does contribute to my overall business acumen.
If you could describe yourself in one sentence…?
Still working on that, :)
What was most exciting to you about the chance to participate in our panel, Selling Yourself Without Selling Out: Making it as an Artist in the Digital Age?
I thought this was a great event to share my story and provide others with a real life story of someone who was able to leverage digital to provide an extension of his work.
Do you have a question for Ruben? Let us know in the comments and we’ll be sure to ask him the night of the event!
