The Simple Yet Effective Networking Outreach Template and Example You Need

When you reach out to someone to network or request an informational interview, you should never be able to send the same message twice.

Why?

Your networking messages should always be super specific to that person. It doesn’t matter if it’s an email, an Instagram DM, or a LinkedIn message. It’s always worth it to customize your outreach.

That doesn’t mean you need to start from scratch each time though.

Here are the important elements to include in networking outreach:

Who are you (include something impressive!)

How did you find them

Why do you like their work/what about them inspires you

What you’d hope to gain from a meeting

A link where they can learn more about you

There’s no one way to network and connect, but for those who struggle, this is a great place to start.
