In today’s candidate marketplace, employers can no longer sit back and wait for top talent to come to them. Nowadays, it’s up to you to impress candidates.
Attending a networking event is a great first step in doing so, but standing out at the event with unique banners, swag and activities is even more effective. The truth is, if you’re not stepping up your employer brand for an event, you may get overlooked by top candidates who hurry along past your table.
Luckily, standing out with cool signage and banners isn’t difficult! It just requires a little bit of inspiration.
So, we put together some of the best signage and banners that employers in the FindSpark community have brought to our epic networking event, Hustle Summit. We chose these examples because they’re creative, effective and easy to carry to and from the event. Whether you have a budget of $20 for balloons or a table runner, or want to go all out with VR booths, you can get inspo from these awesome employer branding examples.
Have awesome signage or banner ideas? Share with us in the comments!
Pack a Retractable Banner
Have a great or unique motto? Give it lots of visibility.
MacMillan is doing so many things right here! They follow the cardinal banner rule, logos at the top, and they also use signage to give visibility to their products and initiatives.
Use color theory to your advantage! If your logo has both dark and bright colors, using bright ones in your signage will draw attention to your table.
Want to go even lighter? Try a table banner!
Banners don’t have to be 6-feet tall. Opt for table banners if you’re looking for a more compact alternative.
Go the extra mile by adding an experience
Want to go all out with your booth? Cloudreach went with a full VR experience. They also use their banner to advertise cities around the world they have offices.
Showcase your work
Showcase your work on signage, especially if it’s well-known!
Balloon Letters
Who said signage had to be on paper? Grey Group uses balloons to stand out at events.
List your openings
List your openings, like VSA Partners and 1stibs! After all, it’s one of the most important pieces of information you can give candidates.
Bring a smaller cardboard sign
Don’t be afraid to break the traditional signage rules and make a creative statement, especially if you’re going on the small side!
Bring a set of several banners
One banner? How ‘bout three? Complimentary banners give your booth a cozy feel and set a strong theme.
Try a fitted tablecloth
Extra points if you can color-coordinate your signage and your tablecloth like Sittercity here, and extra, extra points if it’s pink! Also note, this isn’t your traditional tablecloth, but a cool fitted one! Lastly, this is another great example of a small cardboard sign that looks great.
Can’t bring a banner? There’s always swag!
Add a fun tagline to your swag to strengthen brand identity.
Bring magnets, flyers and other pocket-sized goods you can hand out.
We promise attendees will go crazy for it…
