This week: How to make the most of your winter break.
As finals are winding down for some of us, the first thing on most of our minds is the sweet release that is winter break. If you have 6 weeks off, there are a lot of things you can do with that time. This post should help you make the most of your winter break.
- Relax!
- Catch up on your passions!
- Work on your career.
- Make Money!
- Get a Winternship
Seriously, log-on to Netflix and catch up on all 7 seasons of Dexter. Lounge around your house in your pajamas eating cereal out of the box. You’ve earned it! Spring semester is right around the corner and you want to be refreshed and energized, not burnt out.
You know how your passion for painting, crafting, cooking, playing the piano , etc. went out the window the past few months? Get back into it! Having a hobby can be a major de-stressor. After all of the stress of finals, do something you love to calm down and keep you busy.
Even if you’re just a sophomore, you can still work on your career this January. Design business cards, work on your resume (make sure you add your killer Fall internship), build a website, or develop a useful skill (learn HTML5 or practice a foreign language.)
Like me, you may be super broke after working for free all of Fall semester so get a part-time job or sell stuff on Etsy if you’re crafty.
If you’re really ambitious, get a winternship! Here’s some advice from Her Campus about winternships.
